From Nick and Aarica:
How did you two meet?
College. We were both freshman at Utah State University. We went ice skating. It was an awful date. Neither of us has been ice skating since, but we recovered.
How did he/she propose?
We were camping near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He proposed while hiking up Hahn's Peak. I say hiking up because we never made it to the top. We got lost.
What made you pick your venue?
We love camping in the Pacific Northwest. Mt. Rainier is one of our favorite places in the world so it just fit. Also, I really wanted to elope and Nick wasn't going to let that happen, so it was a compromise to do a small destination wedding.
What kind of personal details did you incorporate into your wedding?
It was all personal. The location, the small group of close friends and family, the food, the low-key ceremony and reception. We opted for a campfire instead of dancing.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?
Stick to your guns. So many people told us what to do and how to do it and we ignored all of them. This resulted in a wedding that was exactly how we wanted it. Everything was perfect.
Last Thoughts?
Get outside! Having a wedding in the mountains was non-negotiable for us and it did not disappoint. Kyle and Tori were the perfect photographers for our wedding. We are so glad we asked them to join us in Washington, and so grateful they agreed. We have more pictures than we'll ever know what to do with and I don't feel like they missed a thing.
